Technologically advanced, filled with magical wonders, and teeming with activity and commerce, Arkhaven was the marvel of Lastland.
Today, little is known and even less is believed about its myths since it was destroyed almost 3,000 years ago…and purposefully sunk into the mountain, which doesn’t seem possible, but that’s what the stories say.
Afterwards, nobody went there despite rumors of its great wealth, magical artifacts, and lost secrets.
From what the records say, it was accepted knowledge, common sense, and the way of how things are that you just didn’t go there, and that’s how it was for a few hundred years. Yet, the keepers of knowledge didn’t say why. Over time this accepted knowledge faded and the collective understanding was forgotten.
And so as is the way of men, adventure called and the daring led expiditions to get answers, to find riches, to win glory, or all of the above. Every year or so for decades news would travel the world about the next gritty adventurer who was finally going to mine the splendors of Arkhaven and come back to tell the tale.
But nobody ever came back. Not once.
The expiditions halted. Filled with dire warnings, the history books from that era are clear as noonday: no one comes back.
And Lastland hasn’t forgotten since because Arkhaven, located in the mountains of Turon, is now a place of banishment. The worst of the worst are sent there, banished, and this sentencing is a perpetual reminder that no one ever comes back.
The story and lore of Dreamstate Legends is being reworked and will be added after play testing begins in 2026. The main campaign will still take place in the sunken city of Arkhaven.
